I’m Vicknesh Suppramaniam, a senior solution architect based in Malaysia.

Vick’s Hangout is my public notebook. I use it to document technical work I may need to revisit, along with the games I play, the models I build, and the projects I spend time on.

The technology posts usually begin with something I had to build, repair, configure, or understand. They cover areas such as Linux, networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, automation, APIs, and self-hosted systems. Some are full guides; others are simply enough documentation to stop me from having to solve the same problem twice.

The gaming side covers solo RPGs, tabletop wargames, character builds, and campaign notes. I write about what I actually own, play, test, or plan to use. It is less about reviewing games for an audience and more about keeping a record of the ideas and sessions that mattered to me.

The Workbench side covers miniatures, plastic models, Gunpla, painting, 3D printing, and the occasional repair or conversion project. Those notes are for the physical making side of the hobby: what I built, how I painted it, what materials I used, and what I would do differently next time.

Professional background

I have worked in technology for more than 20 years, with experience across systems architecture, cybersecurity, networking, software development, technical consulting, and training.

My work currently focuses on secure automation and technology modernisation: helping organisations improve existing systems, connect platforms, protect data, and remove unnecessary manual work.

I founded HandleTec Solutions to provide practical architecture, automation, AI, security, and technology consulting for startups and small and medium-sized organisations.

Previous work has included:

  • Developing frameworks for secure data handling and digital trust with the International Telecommunication Union
  • Contributing to national IPv6 migration and adoption work through USM Nav6
  • Designing and modernising enterprise software platforms
  • Conducting security assessments and infrastructure reviews
  • Training technical teams, managers, government personnel, and enterprise clients

Areas I work in

My main areas of interest and experience include:

  • Solution and system architecture
  • Secure automation
  • Cybersecurity and digital trust
  • Linux and open-source infrastructure
  • Networking and IPv6
  • APIs, integration, and interoperability
  • Technical training and documentation
  • AI-assisted workflows and business modernisation

Outside work

I play tabletop RPGs and wargames, usually solo and on a small table. I also collect and build miniatures, experiment with 3D printing, and spend too much time finding practical uses for old models and unfinished projects.

These interests often overlap with the rest of the site. A gaming project may turn into a workbench log, a terrain-printing experiment, a campaign tracker, or an excuse to automate something that did not need automation.
