This is the recording approach I want to use for future solo campaigns. I do not want session notes and later prose to blur together, especially when I come back to an older project months later.
To keep that clean, I will split each campaign entry into two linked parts: gameplay and story. The gameplay post is the mechanical record. The story post is the later write-up that turns those notes into something easier to reread.
Gameplay log
This is where I log the rolls, sheet changes, oracle results, and other mechanical details that show what actually happened. If I need to check whether something was played or only planned, this is the version I trust first. Character sheets will have their own entries and should always reflect the current version of the character.
Story write-up
Once a session wraps up, I can turn those notes into a cleaner story version. That gives me room for pacing, dialogue, and presentation, but it should still stay grounded in the gameplay post instead of pretending the prose is the primary source.
